Foster Farms

Founded by Max and Verda Foster in 1939, Foster Farms remains family owned and operated to this day. A few things have changed, however, like growing from two employees to over 12,000. In fact, we've become the most trusted poultry company in the Western United States. But even as we've grown, we've always stayed true to our founding principle of integrity and our dedication to raising poultry that is truly fresh.

Today, Ron Foster, Max and Verda’s grandson, oversees our operations and we continue to raise our chicken locally, meaning better quality and taste, with no need to “plump” – no added salt or saltwater. In California we have remained, like 90 percent of California farms, family owned and operated since Max and Verda Foster started with a single backyard flock more than 70 years ago. In Oregon and Washington we work with over 30 independent family-owned farms that are within close proximity to our Kelso, Washington facility where we package this locally grown chicken for our customers in the area.
