Fact: 84% of people who resolve to get fit in the New Year never follow through.
Why? Because it’s too easy to fall back into the grind of daily life, with obligations and to-dos and little personal-improvement time.
Exercise has the ability to positively affect you today, tomorrow, and decades from now. When you exercise, your endorphins are pumping, your blood is flowing, and your body is changing. In turn, your self-esteem is enhanced, your mood is elevated, and you are kinder to those around you.
Want to stick to your Get-Fit Resolution? Try a new technique — make an Intention Board:
- Write a wish list of things you would like to have happen in the New Year.
- Cover a poster board with pictures, words, and/or magazine cutouts that visualize your wish list for you.
- Every morning as you are drinking your coffee or eating breakfast, spend a few minutes taking in the imagery on your board, and imagining how to translate it into your life.
- Come up with ways to make small changes throughout your day to help your goals take shape.
