Given all the excitement about the return of AMC’s MAD MEN and your MAD MEN Premiere House Party, there’s no doubt it’ll be a huge success.
To get the party started, we’ve also come up with a few fun activities which are sure to keep the party going. Get the details in the Party Favors section or visit the MAD MEN Party Planning Guide. Try them all — and don’t be afraid to come up with a few of your own!
- Viewing Party – Make sure to start the party early — at least two hours before the premiere (which is at 9/8c) so you and your guests can watch last season’s finale (the DVD is included in your Party Pack). Then get into the spirit — play the trivia challenge game, distribute Party Pack items, listen to music from the era and tune into the premiere of season five only on AMC. Remember to tweet with #MadMenParty and post comments to the MAD MEN Facebook page before, during and after the show with your party highlights and favorite moments from the show. Leave plenty of time for you and your guests to post pictures and videos from the party on Facebook and Twitter before the premiere at 9/8c.
- Share the Fun – It wouldn’t be MAD MEN without the iconic ‘60s style. Be sure to ask and encourage everyone to dress in their ’60s best and take pictures and video of their dapper selves. Remember to shoot some individual ‘action shots’ such as “The Drape” (use the instructional card included in your Party Pack). Then post everything to the MAD MEN Facebook page before MAD MEN starts because you don’t want to miss a single minute of the premiere. Use the MAD MEN music card from the Party Pack to download some tunes from the era to get everyone in the perfect mood to strike their best MAD MEN pose.
- MAD MEN Trivia Challenge – How MAD are you? Have partygoers take the trivia challenge and give those who answer the most questions correctly one of the prizes included in your Party Pack.

I bought boxes of candy cigarettes to hand out during the party and recently found a vintage book of cocktail recipes so each guest can choose their own concoction. Our living is decorated in mid-century modern style already so we may set up a photo booth around our Eames lounger. My husband and I can't wait for the party but most importantly can't wait to see the premiere!
